So Da Mai Cai sponsored the group of Bolehland top cops to Turkey to learn how to combat online gambling? That was very generous of the Malaysian lottery licensee!
Good thing too for Da Mai Cai if the cops came back with useful knowledge on how fight the scourge of online gambling because that will surely help the lottery licensee too.
But why sponsor the learning trip to Turkey? Is the Muslim nation notorious for online gambling so that the police there have acquired useful knowledge to combat the scourge that Bolehland's own cops here do not possess?
Even then, why so many senior cops at one go (including two of the top brass said to be on imminent retirement) needed to be sent?
And why the elegant silence about the trip until the redoubtable Sarawak Report came out with the news before the Pakatan top brass deigned to say anything?
Good governance means the people need to be informed of events like civil servants going on an all expenses paid overseas trip that raises the question of whether the use of public funds is involved or not.
Not good to be coy about such things, PH! Or was there in the case more than met the eyes?
Should private companies be allowed to sponsor civil servants on all expenses paid overseas trips for whatever reasons or for whatever purposes? Won't this compromise the civil servants' work and integrity in favour of the sponsor?
These are questions the new government needs to look into. It cannot have a lower standard of governance than the previous toxic one that the people have rejected.
As it is now, the people are not happy with the Pakatan government for largely failing to fulfill their promises to the voters. And especially for failing to keep the cost of living low or at least at a manageable level.
The Pakatan government will be a one term government voted out come the next general election if it takes the people for granted.

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
