Bolehland : Those Were The Days!

Today, it is all about race and religion that politicians and ulamas shamelessly exploit to try to stay in power.

A Picture Of Inter-Racial Trust And Friendship Of The Past

Today, it is all about zahir - the outer form - the conforming of which is perceived as indication of piety and faith.

Today, you have people who would even threaten to kill those they perceive as a threat to their belief for supposedly being against their religion, even to those of same faith!

Today, Bolehlanders are becoming more and more estranged from each other.

The races don't interact with one and another as much as they did in the past. They are being told that it is wrong, for example, to join in celebrating other people's festive occasions.

If Bolehland don't move beyond the politics of race and religion, it will be stuck in moving forward as a country and finding its place in the community of nations.

That, 60 + years as an independent nation tells a lot about Bolehland and the lost opportunities.

Unfortunately, there seems to be little hope that there will be any real movement towards a new dawn notwithstanding the PH government of the day.

No one seems able or willing to take the bull by its horns and say enough is enough, the nation needs to make a 180 degree change - no more harping on race and religion - the government of the day won't tolerate any attempt to frustrate the movement forwards as a country united.

Not one divided by race and religion and kept back from working as a united whole for the benefit of the country.

After all, no one is threatening the Malays nor the position of Islam as the official religion of the country. Both are protected by the constitution, anyway.

It is only those who fear losing their political influence and positions and their religious cohorts who are making all the noises to score brownie points and stay in power.

Kluang was a sleepy hollow, but is fast becoming a bustling town. You can't miss the bust-shaped gunung Lambak lording over the place and the town is well known for its tv brand coffee powder

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
