Congratulations, Britain, for choosing to leave the EU!

I had written hoping that you guys would Brexit!

You have now chosen to be the masters of your own fate and that should be as it should be.  How could anyone call itself an independent nation when you are no longer the ultimate boss of your own fate?

Do not listen to the stories of doom and gloom that leaving the Union will bring you.

There surely will be difficult periods of adjustment. But surely as a nation, you have the smarts and the wherewithal to chart your own course and prove to yourselves that there is life after the EU - indeed, a brighter life to speak of.

It is not healthy to stay in an incestuous relationship as a member of the European Union. The world today as not about the EU which is getting increasing cumbersome and fractious.

The world today is all about Asia, especially of East Asia.

Unions do not last nor remain relevant for long. There are just too many competing and often incompatible interests to cater to and accommodate that, in time, any union will crack at the seams and fail.

If you play your cards smartly and well, you will do better than remaining in the Union. The EU will fracture some and become more insular and irrelevant.

Or more desperate and therefore, more dangerous.
