Actually, morality is no predicated on religion nor religious beliefs.
Being religious does not necessarily equate to be being moral.
One does not need to be religious to be moral.
Morality is the inner recognition of what is wrong and what is right.
One is persuaded not because of religion but by the inner recognition of what is right and what is wrong.
Being religious affords a facade.
Being moral is an inner conviction.
Ergo, it is not surprising that corruption can thrive, and often does, in a religious society.
