Is Spitting On Food To Make It Halal (Kosher) An Islamic Practice Sanctioned By The Koran?

Is spitting on food to make it halal an Islamic practice sanctioned by the Koran?

Recently news of restaurant workers handling food spitting on them has caught the attention of Malaysians.

Apparently, the restaurant workers spit on the food they serve to make the food halal.

Whether the practice is following Islamic teaching sanctioning it, is something that would help to be clarified.

For scientifically, spitting on food is not only gross and disgusting but also a very unhygienic to do.

Hopefully, Islamic scholars well versed with the Koran can confirm or debunk the assertion that spitting on food renders it halal according to the teachings of the holy book.

Postscript : Friend Simon responded by sharing the youtube video below, also from Green Party Malaysia website

My response to that  below

Om Ni

Yes, the ulama2, ustaz2, lebais and all the rest of the so-called Islamic experts should come out to either confirm or deny whether spitting on food to make it halal is Islamic practice sanctioned by the Koran

Om Ni

Guess nobody wants to do so. Why?

Om Ni

Why indeed?

Om Ni

BTW, the Chinese don't believe spitting on food sanctifies it!

The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
