On IGP Saying Police Escort Officer Had Been Disciplined For Failing To Declare His Personal Assets And It Would Be Double Jeopardy If Police Continued Investigations Into The Assault On The Deaf-Mute Grab Driver Case

This is interesting and really puzzling leh!

So said officer disciplined for failure to declare his personal assets. So, in effect, he should not be punished/disciplined for the assault because that would amount to double jeopardy.

Are the offences one and the same?

Thought the principle of double jeopardy only applies to a person being disciplined and/or charged for the same offence committed.

Never mind, the police investigation papers on the OKU Grab driver assault case are said to have been submitted to the Attorney General's Chambers.

So, what is the AG doing?

Sitting on them?

Found no offence committed by the said escort officer? Or would it be considered double jeopardy to charge the police escort officer since the poor, poor chap has been disciplined already for failing to declare his personal assets?

Is failure to declare personal assets the same offence as assault?

Looks more like they are as different species altogether as between day and night, no?

So, what's going on? Ai ya ya!!

The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
