When it comes to China, it is unfortunate that westerners are mostly only familiar with Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu and maybe also Chongqing, China's largest city by population and Xinjiang, the last because of all the negative western publicity on the so-called genocide of the Uyghurs and not because they themselves have been to Xinjiang!
As if there are no more cities in China worth knowing or talking about!
Few have ever heard of Fujian province, and its capital, Fuzhou!
Let alone visited the place!
Unfortunate because Fuzhou, like most Chinese cities, is a modern, clean and sizeable city of some 8 million people.
With beautiful parks and gardens and interesting historical old sections of the city.
It also has its own distinctive Fujianese cuisine, some of which are familiar with the Chinese Fujianese diaspora, particularly the Hokkiens here in Malaysia and Singapore.
