At the rate we are going bringing in foreign workers all the years, the country will soon be overwhelmed with them.
As it is, for a small country like Malaysia, with a population of some 30 million, how many foreign workers are there in the country already?
Both the documented ones and the undocumented ones?
Does the government have the proper figures?
Their numbers could one day pose a serious problem for the country if we continue to take in foreign workers, and that too mostly the unskilled ones, on the excuse to fill the work Malaysians themselves are not keen to do.
Cheap labour is what employers look for to further their bottom lines.
If that is all that matters, and the government continues to pamper them instead of encouraging automation and paying Malaysians appropriate wages to encourage them to take up the jobs foreigners in droves now do, we must be prepared for the consequence that brings along with it.
