On Shanghai Covid Lockdown Situation

Om Ni

Who cares about the world!  It is not China's job to babysit the world. It is the world's job to take care of themselves. It is China's job to first look after their own people. The west and the rest of the unenlightened world led by the evil 'Merica aka "The Great Satan," Iran's one time appellation for the world's so-called shinning exemplar of democracy and the land of freedom and truth hahaha...have all along been demonising the Middle Kingdom for all their own ills and the so-called mishandling and spreading Covid to the world; who cares? China does what it thinks is best for its people and if the international supply chain is anyhow disrupted because of China tough no-nonsense zero Covid tolerance policy, so be it! So be it! Don' be cry-babies! Don't be cry-babies! Baby sit yourselves. Baby sit yourselves, will' ya?

On Bing Dwen Dwen & Shuey Rhon Rhon Beijing Winter Olympics And Paralympics Mascots

Om Ni

Bing Dwen Dwen is over-rated. It might be cute but at the same time it looks so contrived, no? What drove it to be a craze is a certain mass hypnosis cleverly promoted by subtle advertisement. Shuey Rhon Rhon, on the other hand, stands out as more genuine and way less pretentious hehehe.....My vote goes to SRR!

On Xiamen Uni China

Om Ni

...If I'm not mistaken, Xiamen Uni China was established by a Malaysian Chinese tycoon. By one Malaysian rubber magnate Tan Kah Kee in 1921. As a Malaysian Chinese I share in the pride! There is now a Xiamen Uni in Malaysia too, set up a few years ago! ...

On Learning And Mastering Mandarin Easier Than Doing The Same With The English Language?

Om Ni

English is overrated. It is in fact a relatively easy language to learn and master. Mandarin is way tougher to learn and master. Knowing 2 or 3 thousand basic words of Mandarin is not enough to get you anywhere except maybe everyday conversation. It is a fallacy to say knowing 2 or 3 thousand Mandarin words is enough, that fallacy needs to be dislodged. Hehehe...不是吗 ?

Kluang RailCoffee

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
