Najib's conviction has not come as a surprise to law-abiding and neutral Bolehlanders in light of the weight of evidence cited by the judge for the conviction.
The conviction was something an independent court would be expected to do in the discharge of its duty in the light of evidence.
But it must has riled Najib's blind supporters who think their boss is innocent.
However it is uncertain whether Najib will ever be given the keys to the Bamboo River Hotel for his sojourn.
Najib has said he will appeal and, in fact, a stay of execution has been granted pending the appeal.
One could only hope that Bolehland's courts, whether courts of first instance or the appellate courts, including the apex court, the Federal Court, will remain strong and independent and not be influenced by any outside considerations in discharging their judicial functions as the last bastion of justice.
Otherwise, the country is screwed
