Is It True That The Malays No Longer Support Anwar Or Only Those Malay Elites Long Used To Enjoying Power And All The Attendant Goodies That Come With It Who Fear A Reformist Anwar?
There are people who are already writing Anwar off as a force in Bolehland politics.
They say that Anwar is no longer relevant because he no longer enjoys Malay support.
Who are these Malays who are said to no longer support Anwar?
So far no one has come out to specify who are the Malays who no longer believe in nor trust Anwar.
What we often read is a dismissive statement or two that Anwar no longer matters in the Malay world.
Or vague cynical 'I-Know-Better-Than-You-Do' declarations.
Why should the Malays no longer support Anwar?
Is Anwar anti-Malay?
Anwar is still, if not more so than others, all for the Malays.
He has made it clear repeatedly that where Islam, the Monarchy and the position of the Malay language are concerned, there is no compromise and he would not tolerate otherwise.
Nothing about doing away with some of the other privileges the Malays enjoy in Bolehland.
Beyond that, he believes in helping the poor, irrespective of race or ethnicity.
Not pandering to the rich and mighty and the connected.
In fighting corruption.
Or at least these are some of the reformist agenda that we don't see any other political entities here, apart from the DAP and Amanah, try to push for.
So who are the Malays who do not support and maybe fear Anwar?
Don't know about you.
But it is premature to write Anwar off.

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
