On Has China Won?

Center for a New American Security CEO Richard Fontaine and Asia Research Institute distinguished fellow Kishore Mahbubani join Chicago Council For Global Affairs President Ivo Daalder to discuss.

Hahaha.....even apparently smart people cannot help themselves regurgitating everyone's favourite narrative that the Middle Kingdom was coy about Covid 19 and had tried to cover it up. Did China really do that?

Covid 19 was an entirely new and previously unknown pathogen that China had to be certain before it sounded the alarm. But the moment they were certain about the damage and danger the rogue virus posed, China informed the WHO.

No, Kishore, the world has seen enough of the US that it is just an unmitigated bully out to cow the rest of the world to its ideology and won't tolerate any who would not bow to it.  Waging wars, stirring up troubles, instigating regime changes, exporting arms and bearing miseries everywhere it tries to exert its authority.

No, Kishore, the world does not want to see a strong US. They know that that is bad for them. They are ready for a new world taikor (big boss) that isn't interested in toppling governments and pushing its ideology, but is interested in doing business with everyone and has a long history to prove that.

The world, like it or not for some people, is ready for the Middle Kingdom to regain its rightful place as the world's preeminent power.

So be it!

Kluang was a sleepy hollow, but is fast becoming a bustling town. You can't miss the bust-shaped gunung Lambak lording over the place and the town is well known for its tv brand coffee powder

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
