Mahathir says that he is ready to step down only after the next year's Apec summit meeting in November.
The trouble is that people no longer trust Mahathir.
They don't believe in what he says anymore.
He says one thing one moment. Quite another thing the next moment.
It it high time Mahathir stops playing games and starts honouring the election understanding to pass the baton to Anwar.
The uncertainty as to when, or if ever, the man will pass the baton to Anwar is causing a lot of problems.
It has lead to a lot of politicking, to attempts to stall Anwar from taking over instead of work being done to move the country forward.
It is also spooking the markets.
Investors aren't going to do business here if they are unsure what is in store for them.
In fact, Mahathir should step down now and let Anwar take over.
The longer Mahathir stays on, the more uncertainty there is.
What is so sacrosanct about Mahathir hosting the Apec summit meeting? Is his attendance as host something irreplaceable?
Would Anwar taking over as the 8th Pm scuttle the Apec summit?
Mahathir should stop making excuses for himself or coming up with justifications.
The message from Tanjung Piai is loud and clear.
The people want Mahathir to step down.
Mahathir should step down now rather than later.
Stepping down only at the end of next year would not leave Anwar enough time to put things right for PH and lead it to victory in GE15.
Mahathir jumped on the Pakatan bandwagon when he saw a chance to topple his one time protege Ah Jib.
He knew that alone, he would not be able to do so with his mosquito Bersatu.
The other PH coalition partners have kept to their words in allowing Mahathir to become the interim 7th Pm even though the Agong had instead, offered Anwar's wife to become the the 7th Pm as the leader of the party with the most numbers of MPs in the coalition.
It is only honourable that Mahathir keeps to his part of the bargain by stepping down for Anwar now rather than to keep changing the date when he will do so, or if ever.
And hopefully save any remnants of goodwill he may still have with the people and his own legacy.

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
