Carrie Lam Should Step Down According To Mahathir

The  Great One said that Carrie Lam should step down and I agree.

But not for the reason Mahathir said Hong Kong's Chief Executive should resign.

Carrie Lam should resign for being too weak.

Her administration has failed to keep law and order, allowing the protesters to turn mobsters, wrecking damage to public and private properties with impunity, making a nuisance of themselves to the general public who need to get to work but have to face constant harassment doing so because of the disruption to public transport, especially of the mass rapid system.

The so-called peaceful protesters have no qualms, even attacking police, throwing petrol bombs at them et al.

In no other jurisdictions would the police be so soft on the protesters turned mobsters. In quite a few, especially in the west, the US included, the police would have shot and killed quite a few of those at the very first sign of trouble.

But the Hong Kong police continue to act largely like pussy cats, which only serves to embolden the trouble makers to further anarchy and destruction.

So, indeed Carrie Lam should resign and let someone more capable to take over and show the irresponsible protesters turned mobsters, now egged on by the west, that they will not be allowed to destroy Hong Kong.

It is hard to see that objection to the proposed Hong Kong-Mainland China extradition law, now canned, was the right thing to do.

Many countries have extradition arrangements with each other, including Bolehland itself with others countries. Why would an extradition arrangement between Hong Kong and Mainland China be objectionable?

Extradition arrangements between countries are a very common thing.

The proposed extradition law came about following the infamous case of a Hong Kong man who went to Taiwan to meet his Taiwanese girl whom he had killed and then escaped back to Hong Kong before he could be caught by the Taiwanese authorities.

Taiwan could not ask for the murderer's extradition because there is no extradition agreement with Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong authorities did not charge the man because the crime was not one committed in the territory. What an imbecilic travesty, one that any sane or moral person or country would want to rectify, pronto!

The proposed extradition law would have allowed the extradition of a criminal who commits a crime in Mainland China to be extradited from Hong Kong to face trail in Mainland China and vice versa. What was so vile about that?

The excuse for the initial protest was that Mainland China would abuse the law to extradite a Hong Kong critic of the Mainland government. Well, if the Mainland wants to do that, it could just go ahead without asking anyway.

But from an initial objection to the proposed extradition law, the whole protest has turned dark - what the protesters turned mobsters really want is essentially to break from Mainland China and be an independent self-ruled country.

For that, the protesters turned mobsters have turned to carrying and hoisting British and American flags with pride and to burning the Chinese flag and some have proudly (shamelessly, really) gone to the America Congress to beg for help. What do one call these people? Traitors?

No sovereign nation would allow its citizens to do such things and not call them traitors and treasoners.

But perhaps, Bolehland should mind our own business and not try to interfere in other country's affairs.

We have our own problems to deal with, and Mahathir's administration seems to be failing the people who have placed their trust in the PH government by voting them in to fulfill manifesto pledges made to them.

Hahaha

Kluang was a sleepy hollow, but is fast becoming a bustling town. You can't miss the bust-shaped gunung Lambak lording over the place and the town is well known for its tv brand coffee powder

The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
