It is hard for the rakyat to accept the reason for the volte-face on the Rome Statute.
What is 'deep state'? Who are the 'deep state?'
It would be better if the Pakatan government speaks in plain language that everyone can understand.
Never before heard of a coup d'etat or an attempt at it here in Bolehland.
If there is in fact the threat of a coup to topple a duly elected government, that is serious stuff and the Pakatan government needs to tell the country who are the culprits and to act quickly to arrest the potential troublemakers.
A coup is an offence against the state and the government needs to act firmly. Not chicken out from doing what it proposes to do. If the government has to quickly backtrack each each time it proposes to do something, at the first sign of protest, it is effectively unable to govern. That is not the government the people have voted in to run the country.
Bolehlanders are fast losing faith in the Pakatan government for failing to show the kind of leadership expected of it.
Maybe it is time for Mahathir to step aside as the Pm and let some else take over who is not afraid to take the bull by its horns no matter how challenging that may be, and put a stop to all the backtracking and going back on the election promises.
The Pakatan government needs to come up with a more convincing reason for their volte-face on the Rome Statute.
Or reveal it all - who really are the 'deep state' here, out to stage a coup d'etat?
Then act to put the 'deep state' in its place where it should belong.
Because a coup or an attempted coup against a duly elected government is a serious thing that needs to be tackled firmly.
No two ways about it.

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
