The Cameron by-election loss was a wake-up call to the new Pakatan government.
The Semenyih loss is a warning that the people are fed up with the Pakatan government and are ready to give it the boot come the next general election.
No two ways about that. The people are fed up with the Pakatan government for failing to fulfill election promises, especially the one to keep the cost of living low. Life is not getting any better. It fact, it is getting worse because everything costs more now.
The rakyat are also fed up with the politicking going on, especially with the Pm trying to bring in dUMNo frogs into Bersatu's fold. This is rightly seen as a blatant betrayal and gross disregard of the people's mandate.
They also feel let down with the Pm's ministerial appointments, quite a few of whom really aren't up to their job. And some of whom seem more comic than capable. Like the black-shoes genius. Boy, does Bolehland not deserve better?
Unfortunately, politicians never learn. When they lose an election they pledge to study the cause(s) and do better the next time.
But few ever admit to why they actually lost.
Another reason why Pakatan lost ground is the failure of the government to crack down on the increasingly incendiary racial and religious baiting by the opposition to gain support.
The Semenyih loss is an expression of the people's loss of faith and confidence in the Pakatan government and Mahathir as the Pm.
It is high time Mahathir recognises that and steps down gracefully as the Pm instead of clinging on to the post.
It is high time Mahathir pass the baton to Anwar and give Pakatan a chance to put things right before more damage is done.
Uncertainty as to when the Great One would pass the baton to Anwar is not good for the country as it will lead to more politicking and more distrust of the people who have voted in the Pakatan government for a change.
Besides, the Great One has no new ideas how to bring the country forward in this cyber age. He seems to want to rehash all the things he did during his first stint as the country's 4th Pm.
The age of the analogue is long past.
This is the digital age.
The world of 5G and beyond.

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
