The first installment of the new government's cabinet has just been sworn in. Congratulations should have been in order because it has taken so long, nearly two weeks, post general election for it to be cobbled together.
But why is it that I for one, and many others too I believe, don't feel elated?
The misgiving arises largely from the controversial appointment of Maszlee Malik as the education minister.
Maszlee's Islamic credentials and Salafist leanings are understandably concerning to many people. Others may not see it as such. But why persist with the appointment when it has given rise to so many concerns so early on?
Is there no one else in Pakatan Harapan who is capable to be appointed the education minister except Maszlee and who is generally acceptable to the people?
Are the PH guys telling us they are sorely lacking in talents and potential?
Have Bolehlanders voted in a bunch of people who are good-for-nothing or sorely lacking in talents when it matters ?
The ones who have come out to urge the rakyat to give Maszlee's a chance and welcome him while saying they don't understand why there should be any objection to Maszlee's appointment perhaps aren't listening.
Or they are admitting that PH lacks the talents in its ranks.
That's an inauspicious start to being the new government the rakyat have voted in to replace BN who were just bad at that - listening to the voice of the people!

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
