Between Equanimity, Desire And The Middle Path Which Would You Embrace
(Conversation That Could Have Happened)

i personally would embrace equanimity. the middle path is a good tool in certain areas like food. we don't want to be extreme in our eating habits. but the middle path may not be a good thing when it concerns work if we don't want to go the extra mile becos we thought that is unnecessary. or we refuse to think out of the box.
desire is life itself. it is desire to live that keeps us alive. without desire where would human kind be? the trick is not to fear desire but to be able to let go. this is where equanimity comes in. here is where i disagree with what we have been told by those who misinterpret sakyamuni.
in fact, the whole idea of keeping a cool mind is so that we won't let agony take control of us and cause misery.
be totally engaged in what we do and don't deny for the sake fearing we lose ourselves. joy is part and parcel of enlightenment. misery is too. when misery comes, embrace it too and let go. that is equanimity.
