A vernacular newspaper published a cartoon of monkeys, satirising an opposition leader and the speaker of the Bolehland parliament and some sections of Bolehlanders have gone ballistic.
They are demanding the closure of said newspaper and threatening people not to make fun of religion. Almost like hebdoing.
For goodness' sake, satirising an opposition politician (who happens to be a Muslim) and the speaker of the Bolehland parliament, even on the subject of introducing a hudud bill of sorts, of a secular state, cannot and shouldn't be equated to blasphemy.
Some Bolehlanders have become so sensitive that they see blasphemy in almost anything. It is the easy way out if you can't handle the heat.
Hope it is not the case of monkey see, monkey do.
Bolehland needs to move on.
Not move backwards.
