Sybil Kathigasu: A Malaysian Heroine

The cute google doodle commemorating the 117th birthday of Sybil Kathigasu piqued my interest.
I must confess that I myself had very little idea of who she was.

One reason why Bolehlanders have little or no idea at all of her is because the dUMNo led government, for reasons only known to themselves, have not chosen to give her the recognition that she deserves in Bolehland history.

But now that I know a little more of her, to me she was a true Malaysian heroine - more real than Hang Tuah. And certainly less dense.

    Thank you for sharing this Youtube video. I came to your site because of Google's Doodle. She should have been a household name among Malaysians for her principles and for her resistance against the enemy tyrants of the time.

The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family.
