Genting Highlands Bus Tragedy: An Accident Waiting To Happen!

First off, my condolence to the families of those killed in the accident

That was an accident waiting to happen.

Public buses to the highlands resort are often overloaded with passengers. Quite a number of them are also poorly maintained.

I once took such a bus to the resort and it was struggling going up the resort and was practically screeching when coming down.

Had it not been for the grace of existence we would all have died.

The road up and down the resort is not the most inspiring easy ride and on a wet or rainy day, it is a miracle for an overloaded and poorly maintained bus to make it safely going up and coming down.

The road is winding and twisting and at some places the incline is steep.

If you are not careful or not familiar, you could easily get into trouble.

It behooves the operators of public buses plying the route to and from the highlands resort to ensure that the buses are not overloaded with passengers and that at all times the buses are well maintained.

They must also ensure that their drivers are reliable and not overworked.

Anything short is negligence pure and simple.

She was well known for her Petronas commercials and had won numerous international awards including the Golden Lion award for the 'Tan Ming Hong In Love' commercial. Her feature film Sepet not only garnered her several international awards including for Best Asian Film but also drew multi-racial audiences that rarely happens for a local film.

Kluang was a sleepy hollow, but is fast becoming a bustling town. You can't miss the bust-shaped gunung Lambak lording over the place and the town is well known for its tv brand coffee powder

The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
