In some of the august Houses in Asia like India's Lok Sabha, Japan's Diet and Taiwan's Lifa Yuan or Legislative Yuan, fists and sometimes chairs and other objects at hand fly across the floor and hair gets pulled.
In Bolehland, we have not reached the kinetic stage.
Yet, that is.
We are still at the zoo animal stage, but surely evolving to catch up with the other august Houses.
I much prefer that in the Dewan Negara, the fellows we poor Malaysians had once again inexplicably voted into, would remain in their zoo animal skins and not evolve to match our more illustrious neighbour legislatures.
That way, at least, nobody gets hurt physically.
Hardly had the 13th Parliament opened, then we had the redoubtable Bung fellow from Sabah acting true to his skin, expectedly eliciting equivalent retorts from others in the House.
Instead of debating on point, or raising intelligent questions, these honourable fellows waste the nation's precious time and resources behaving like zoo animals seeking attention.
We have those in Zoo Negara, our national zoo.
We are not going to feed and pay the "pretender" animals in Dewan Negara.
The nation can't afford to.
We need our Parliament to serve the people and not the other way around.
