Singapore's public housing is the envy of many countries. Their Housing Development Board (HDB) housing estates are all well planned and laid out, with clean tree-lined streets and adequate lightning.
The apartments themselves are sturdily built, everything is spic and span and the lifts are well maintained and working unlike the ones here in Malaysia.
Each apartment has a void deck below for the residents to use for holding weddings for example and other functions. You won't find this feature with the public housing estates here in Malaysia.
There is adequate parking space for the residents. And the apartments are repainted every few years so that even the older ones look new.
All the housing estates are well serviced by Singapore's super efficient public bus service, often with the Mass Rapid Transit rail station close by.
