Mr Prime Minister, Oh Mr Prime Minister...

Pm Najib has been handing out one goody after another.

He started with the Rm200 book voucher to tertiary students, Rm100 to students, then the so-called 1BRIM Rm500 one-off payout to householders earning less than Rm3000 per month.

And just recently Rm400 "tyre assistance" to taxi drivers, Rm400 "duit raya" to Felda settlers and he has agreed to a minimum Rm500 "raya bonus" to the million plus civil servants.

All this must have easily cost the Malaysian government Rm5 billion or more. And all this while government debt is at an all-time high of 54% plus of GDP, that is just a whisker short of the legal limit of 55%!

Of course Najib has ministers who are willing to come out to say, as one fellow actually did when the debt level was at 53% point, that we are still not there yet so there is therefore nothing to worry about!

Yeah sure, while the latest indication is that Malaysia is the worst placed among some Asian countries to weather the storm of the financial and economic uncertainties in Europe and an expected slow down in the Chinese economy.

While Najib is trying to boost his popularity among the rakyat with the goodies and hopefully win their votes, he still has no guts to call for a general election even though he recently bragged that he would thrash the opposition 14-0 in football parlance were he to call for it!

However, when the man Malaysians see as the de facto Prime Minister, former premier Dr Mahathir, came out to say that a date after the raya holidays would be a suitable date to call for the 13th general election, it seemed that finally Najib might just call for it.

But as they say, the gods don't favour the weak and events in Sabah look like once again scuttling any plan Najib might have had to finally have the guts to call for the much anticipated GE and sending him back into his shelf nursing his lack of mojo.

I really hope not. Because Najib is the only Malaysian premier who does not have a mandate of his own. He became the prime minister only because his predecessor Abdullah Badawi was ousted by his own party.

And it has been 4 years plus since.

It seems Najib is the Pm with the loudest sound bites and full of hot air.

  1. Your PM should have been impeached long ago. We see too clearly from a neutral & democratic New Zealand. For these low lives & criminals, God' s nemesis will prevail. Look at Gaddafi , then Assad, when Syrians wanted fair & free elections, Assad said there were foreign terrorists wanting to topple the Gov't… now he kills them. Gaddafi and Assad weren't even democratically elected! Just like your PM - handed down from Daddy! Even watching from afar, we have reached the brink now: We call the most horrific course on these criminals. The people's power, the people's day will come.

    1. Not so bad yet here, Alan Newman. But of course, Malaysians want a change. We are more afraid of the gerrymandering that might yet steal the election from the people. That is why Bersih is so important to us. Thanks for passing by and commenting.

Kluang was a sleepy hollow, but is fast becoming a bustling town. You can't miss the bust-shaped gunung Lambak lording over the place and the town is well known for its tv brand coffee powder

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
