deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it
Do you know what is compassion?
I don't.
I know what is kind.
I know what is considerate.
These are easy to understand.
Compassion is not.
How can you have a deep awareness of the suffering of another if you are not in his shoes?
You can feel you that understand, you can intellectualise.
What hypocrisy.
And after you have done so, you think you are buddha already.
What vain-glory.
Don't be a buddha.
Don't even be siddharta.
Be yourself.
Then being yourself, you can be
Kind
You can be
Considerate.
Or you don't.
At least you won't be vain-glorious.
Compassion has even made buddha vain-glorious.
