Here's an article by Kim Quek that seems to suggest that from available video, the breach of the Dataran Merdeka barricade during the later part of the Bersih 3.0 rally on 28 April 2012, might have been pre-planned and was a set-up!
It is indeed strange that a three-row deep line of police personnel sturdily manning the barricade should suddenly abandoned their position in unison for no apparent reason or rhyme, leading to the the rally participants breaching the barricade.
There was no intimation at all of rally participants charging at the barricade or threatening to attack the police line or to attack the police themselves prior to THAT moment before the police personnel suddenly abandoning their position!

It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family.
