The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. How timely a post! I have thought of Teresa Teng these days, and had no idea she sang in English too. She's one of my favorite Chinese singers of all time.
ReplyDeleteJocelyn, thanks for visiting. Yes, she also sang in Japanese and Malay and if I am not mistaken in Tagalog too. She even sang an Italian song when she was just 14! All her songs were so beautifully sung, even the Malay ones. Yes, she was also one of my favourite singers. A good thing is that you also understand Mandarin. She was and still is a big hit among her fans here, even the younger ones.
