Kuantan and Gebeng folks in Pahang are up in arms against the rare earth plant project the Pahang state government is eager to push through.
It is a project the Australian government does not want on their soil as being considered unsafe. So, why is it seen as safe by the Pahang government, especially in view of the sad experience of a similar failed project in Bukit Merah, Perak in the eighties?
The Najib administration is fond of spouting "Rakyat DiDahulukan" (People First) policy whenever it wants to push through a project or programme but it is all mostly holy crap.
Here is a link to an interesting article on the subject of Lynas rare earth project from Malaysian Chronicle.
