Najib's Special Gift To Malaysian Workers!

Pm Najib is a funny guy. This great leader had been resisting for some time the call for setting a minimum wage policy.
the Sun 1st May 2012

Now, probably in the light and fearful of the consequence of the Bersih 3.0  rally (although Bersih 3.0 has got nothing to do with minimum wage), Najib has finally agreed to fix a minimum wage for Malaysian workers.

The minimum wage proposed to be set is Rm900 for peninsular Malaysian workers and Rm800 for our East Malaysian brothers and sisters of Sabah and Sarawak.

Najib calls the minimum wage policy as a special gift from the government to all workers in Malaysia. (the Sun 1st May 2012)

Tell that to a worker in KL city earning Rm900 per month whether that is a special gift!

That sum won't be enough to even buy him a piece of roti canai. Ok, exaggerating. But you get the point.

Let's say that worker is a bachelor. Rental: Rm150-200. Transport: Rm150. Food: Rm 300. Miscellaneous Expenses: Rm 150. Total: Rm 750-800. Note that the figures are rather conservative.

If he fell sick or had other unexpected expenses, where does he go to for help? The ah longs?

And if that worker is married and has kids? Social welfare? You know our social welfare is the standing joke of the world.

So, if Najib thinks that the proposed minimum wage scheme is a special gift to the Malaysian workers, then we Malaysians would like to propose that Najib forgo his fat salary and go for the special gift.

Come on Najib, show us that Rm 900 is indeed a special gift!

Kluang was a sleepy hollow, but is fast becoming a bustling town. You can't miss the bust-shaped gunung Lambak lording over the place and the town is well known for its tv brand coffee powder

The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
