Anwar Says Tunku Is Still His Guide In Leading The Madani Government

Anwar says Tunku is still his guide in leading the Madani government

Unfortunately, what we are seeing today is the growing conservatism and intolerance that are threatening the unity and harmony of the raykat of diverse ethnicities, cultures and religions that once existed between the people during Tunku's time.

What is happening today is a far, far cry from Tunku's time when the raykat went along their days respecting and treating each other like genuine fellow Malaysian brothers and sisters.

Today, there is growing suspicion and distrust between Malaysians of different races, cultures and religions.

We even see attempts to impose what is considered socially/religiously acceptable or not; Muslims for example, told not to join their friends celebrating Christmas.

And the recent JAKIM proposal, now abandoned because of strong objections, on guidelines for Muslims attending non Muslim celebrations/events and the requirement non Muslim events to obtain prior permission before inviting Muslim guests.

Even the Sultan of Selangor has voiced his opposition to the proposal

Plus constant raising of issues over alleged religious insults like the KK Mart socks incident.

All these are not helping to promote unity and harmony among the rakyat of different races, cultures and religions unlike during Tunku's time.

So,  Anwar ,how is Tunku still your guide in leading your so-called Madani government when it comes to promoting unity and harmony among the diverse multi racial, multi cultural and multi religious population?

Postscript : Friend Simon responded with his comments below and my own

Simon

He can say what he likes, but actions (or the lack of) speak louder than words.

Om Ni

Yep! Cakap tak serupa bikin (Malay for 'actions don't match the words)

Kluang was a sleepy hollow, but is fast becoming a bustling town. You can't miss the bust-shaped gunung Lambak lording over the place and the town is well known for its tv brand coffee powder

Kluang RailCoffee
The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
