Is The Home Minister Doing His Home Work?

We thought we were first world.

Yeah, sure we are first world - in my unpalatable things.

You and I know what these are: corruption, arrogance, patronage, mismanagement and abuse of power in high places and in the corroding corridors of power.

We used to look down on political and election violence in third world countries.

Of course, we have always been first world country.

As long as we have the twin towers and don't live on trees, we are first world.

Not too long ago our Asean neighbour Philippines regularly saw election violence and deaths.

We are seeing the beginning of things to come

And of course, we do it our way. We blame others for the violence that we do or threaten to commit.

And of course, our alleged leaders allege.

You see, it is called 'I do it my way'

 And my way has a 55 plus year pedigree.

Oops, okay, okay maybe beginning from the reign of the man Malaysians are fond of calling the Maha Firuan (The Great or Supreme Pharoah) thirty years ago.

Now, this violent trend - what does it tell us?

It tells us that Umno knows that, for the first time ever, they are going to lose their pants to the opposition.

And that is not something Umno can afford or knows how to deal with.

Because there is just too much at stake.

After more than half a century holding all the stakes, what can you expect?

You don't want to be a naked emperor, although someone or another might already be one without knowing it.
