The most famous laowai or foreigner in China, arguably more famous than a filmstar, is DaShan
大山 (Big Mountain) or Canadian Mark Roswell.

But how about Charlotte Macinnis or Ai Hua 爱华 (Love China). She too, speaks impeccable Mandarin. In 1988 at age 7, Charlotte Macinnis moved to China with her parents.
She has appeared on stage and screen numerous times in China since age 10 and is accepted by the Chinese as one of their own.
She currently hosts a learn Mandarin programme 成长汉语 ( growing up with Chinese )

The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family.
