The subject of flying Malaysia's national flag upside down by mistake has been taken too far as a means by some politicians to burnish their so-called patriotic credentials and be seen as a national hero.
Especially when the call for blood for such unintended mistake is often directed to the target based on one's race.
What is sad is that Malaysians are now beginning to be wary or fearful of flying the national flag to celebrate an occasion like Merdeka Day (National Day) for example.
To make matters worse, the absolute silence from PMX Anwar's so-called Madani Unity government on the matter of overboard reactions of politicians like the Umno Youth Chief and his strident calls to punish unintended mistakes on flying the national flag only worsens the situation.
Yes, indeed, action must be taken against the guy before things get out of hand!
The incessant bullying will only discourage more and more Malaysians fron flying the national flag for fear of an unintended mistake or flag gotten blown askew by the wind or by some naughty guy or opportunist deliberately upending the flag.
