I am in full support of the concept of universal basic income but it must be one that really makes a difference.
Not the paltry sum of a 100 Ringgit per month.
In fact, a modified form of so-called universal basic income makes more sense where the rich and those who earn a certain income per month that allows them to live without having to worry about the next meal or paying rent should decline or be excluded altogether.
Only those who are poor, retirees and seniors without income entitled.
The amount of universal basic income, to be meaningful, should be something per month that really helps.
Corruption should be eliminated; the billions otherwise siphoned off by those in power, their cronies and families and wastages in government spending avoided, all that will help in making universal or a modified universal basic income a reality if the government of the day cares for the people.
Instead of throwing billions in ego projects that don't serve the rakyat in any meaningful way.
