Umno In The Last Throes Of Its Life?

Everyone knows that Umno is in the last desperate throes of its life to sustain whatever remaining Malay support it still has when everyone who is anyone in the party, is trying to outdo each other to show that he, and the party by implication, is the champion of the Malays and Islam.

The latest Umno hero is none other than the "I am a Malay first" DPM Muhyiddin Yassin.

Pity that he was so too eager to jump into the fray without first ascertaining the facts, and therefore exposing his naked ambition to also perhaps go for the Umno presidency himself ?

Umno knows that it has lost the Malay support.

And that it needs to do whatever it can to regain the Malay support they had taken for granted.

The fact is that more Malays had voted for the opposition than for Umno in Ge13.

But of course, Umno won't admit this.

So it turns its attention to trying to demonise the Chinese and making bogeymen of them.

Pity again (for the 60 + year old dinosaur Umno) that our Malay brethren are not biting the bait anymore.

For, despite all the provocations and attempts to pit the races against each other, Umno has failed miserably to elicit the hoped for response.

Umno's desperate brand of survivalist politics is inimical not only to themselves but also, more importantly, to the nation.

Instead of speaking rationally and trying to bring the races together, Umno, it seems, is more interested to use race as platform to remain in power.

But a desperado can't be expected to be rational, can it?
