Malaysians Welcomed The New Year With A Big Laugh!

Some people welcomed the new year with a sense of foreboding, fearing that 2012 will be the end of the world as per a Mayan belief.

Malaysians welcomed the new year with a big laugh when they learned of PM Najib's new year message that Malaysia's best days were still ahead and that a better future for the country was within reach.

For once we Malaysians do believe the PM, but with the caveat that UMNO, which he helms, and the ruling Barisan coalition, which he leads, are ousted in the 13th general election which many Malaysians expect him to call for soon.

UMNO and the ruling Barisan coalition which have held the reins of the government for more than half a century without a break have now come to be seen by Malaysians as being so set and fossilised in their wayward ways as to be perceived as a hindrance to Malaysia's future.
