Dinner With Gero

Ming's husband, Gero, flew in from England the other day to join his family for their summer vacation here. Unfortunately, he was quite under the weather.

We went for dinner at Tong's Restaurant at USJ 19 Mall, Subang. The USJ 19 is a relatively new mixed residential and commercial  complex. The Mall houses several restaurants, even a karaoke joint and carrefour supermarket.

I particularly liked the Indonesian clay-pot prawns in santan and of course my favourite vegetable dish kangkong (water convolvulus) stir-fried with belacan (dried shrimp paste) and chillies. The Thai style sweet sour fish was also nice.

Except for the kids who opted for orange juice, we adults washed our food down with Tie-Guan-Yin Chinese tea. It was one of the better Tie-Guan-Yin teas that I have tasted, just nicely fragrant and smooth.

The meal came to about RM125.00, courtesy of Jackie who insisted on paying.

  1. Duncan, I must confess I wasn't aware about the craze until lately. Shows how out of touch I am with kiddie stuff.
