Petronas Twin Towers - KLCC (Part One)

When they were first completed in 1998, the Petronas Twin Towers were considered the tallest buildings in the world until 2004 when they were overshadowed by the Taipei 101 skyscrapers. Today, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai lords over the rest.

But if I am not mistaken, the twin towers are still regarded as the tallest twin buildings in the world. The towers house the Suria shopping mall which, as far as  I am concerned, is one of the more pleasant malls to shop in in Kuala Lumpur city. Except on weekends when hordes of foreign immigrant workers converge on the place and movement becomes difficult.

There is also a large well-landscaped and maintained public park with jogging tracks in their vicinity.

Suria shopping mall houses practically all the big name tenants including Malaysia's own hero and world renowned shoe-maker Jimmy Choo.

Kristina's relatives flew in from England for their summer holidays and KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center) and the twin towers were the logical place to show them around for a start.

  1. You should pay the place a visit, Duncan. I am sure you will be able to take wonderful pictures of the place with your photographic skills. There are many nooks and corners, especially in the park for wonderful pictures to be taken besides the twin towers themselves. I am sure Lauren will enjoy the park where there is a wading pool and a wonderful playground for children.

  3. Beautiful collection of photos! I love the ones taken in the mall!

Visiting PETRONAS Towers was definitely one of the highlights during my trip to Malaysia. I loved going up to the sky bridge - it was a wonderful experience and when we went there, going up was free which was an added bonus. Have you ever dined at the revolving restaurant at the top of KL Tower? Loved it - The night views of KL from the restaurant was fantastic!

    1. They say locals often take their city for granted. Very true! To tell the truth, I've not been on the sky bridge nor the revolving restaurant at the KL Tower! When were you here? Thanks for dropping by my blog!
