Speaking Mandarin
Sometimes it is interesting to hear Westerners who are learning Mandarin speak the language. Maybe not so quite perfectly, but you know they try and are doing fine.

When I was serving as a missionary some of my friends had to learn mandarin chinese. One was an American and he ended up speaking Mandarin so well, he could easily have been mistaken for someone from China!

That is really impressive of your friend, Duncan, because Mandarin is a difficult language to master.
