Most nations have extradition arrangements with other countries. It is not something unusual or out of the way.
The SAR Hong Kong government's proposed extradition treaty with Mainland China came about after the case of a Hong Kong guy who murdered his Taiwanese girlfriend and fled back to Hong Kong.
Taiwan could not request for the man's extradition because it does not have an extradition arrangement with Hong Kong. The guy was not charged in Hong Kong because the murder did not take place in Hong Kong.
China wanted an arrangement whereby a Chinese citizen who commits a crime in the Mainland and flees to Hong Kong be extradited to face the music in the Mainland. What was so objectionable about that?
The protesters' excuse was that the Middle Kingdom would abuse the arrangement to nap Hong Kong China critics and bring them to the Mainland.
If the Middle Kingdom wants to do that, it could just do it, anyways, extradition treaty or not.
So, why even after the SAR Hong Kong government finally canned the proposed extradition bill, the protests still continue today, with no end in sight? Growing more and more violent as the days go by?
Something is amiss. Things don't quite tally.
Why are the Hong Kong protesters even willing and happy to carry and hoist American and British flags if they really care for themselves as a special administrative region of China that will be integrated with the Mainland?
After all, Hong Kong belongs to China, period. The British stole it from the Middle Kingdom at gunpoint at a period of Chinese weakness during the corrupt Ching Dynasty.
Are there hidden hands that prod the Hong Kong protesters on to destabilise the territory and weaken China?
That may be the tale of one white walrus war monger and one disenchanted Hong Kong billionaire. And more.
Well, the world knows that the US of A thinks that it owns the world and the world must be made in its image!
Hahaha.....what celestial delusion that be!
The day of reckoning might just be nigh for the self-appointed policeman of the world, who knows ?
