If things go on the way it seems, we soon won't even be able to say that we are a conservative nation. We will have to be honest and admit that we are more like a country run by the Taliban.
Voices of intolerance are getting more and more strident each day with racial and religious bigots running free.
Even the divine's name is proscribed, so that non-Muslims who utter it run foul of the law.
Now, even turkeys need to be halal.
It is my ignorance, I admit, that I have not heard of kosher turkeys until now.
We have heard of pork being non-halal. Because we have been constantly reminded of it.
But kosher turkeys?
Okay, the bird needs to be slaughtered according to specified rituals to be considered halal.
Still, why can't they allow non-kosher turkeys to be imported and tagged as non-halal so that Muslims know what is what and nobody is offended.
This is the Christmas season.
Without turkeys what is Christmas?
