I was trolling the net for some articles on yong tau fu (foo) when I came across this great blog on local food fare.

You will find some wonderful write-ups, and some great pictures, on the popular food of Malaysia.

  2. The Ampang outlets are noted for yong tau fu, but personally I am not too thrilled with what they have to offer. Yong tau fu is not my personal favourite food anyway. And the Ampang yong tau fu outlets are steaming hot, crowded and stuffy on a typical day. Not for the faint hearted. But they are well known to yong tau fu lovers all over the country.

  3. Just in case some readers misunderstand, I would like to clarify that I used the phrase 'trolling the net' rather tongue-in-cheek. The word 'troll' was not such a bad thing until the event of the internet, when the phrase 'trolling the net' got to mean using or, rather, abusing the internet to seek to provoke reactions from others either by posting irrelevant comments or deliberately raising provocative issues.

Kluang was a sleepy hollow, but is fast becoming a bustling town. You can't miss the bust-shaped gunung Lambak lording over the place and the town is well known for its tv brand coffee powder

The Kluang railway station coffee shop, now re-branded Kluang RailCoffee, is well known for its cuppa of coffee and the charcaol grilled piping hot buns oozing with butter and kaya...It used to attract standing-room only crowds. It still does, but the last time I was there it wasn't a good experience for me. The famous coffee had somewhat lost its oomph and even the buns...The shop has a long and noted history being first opened for business in 1938 and the place is now run by the 3rd generation LIm family. I hope the next time I return, the coffee would regain its oomph. Click to read more...
